Dimapur, Jan. 28 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 130 Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the tally to 34,189 and active caseload to 902.
The state’s cumulative recoveries have increased to 31,193 with the recovery of 63 more patients and the death toll increased to 696 with four fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 98 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, 15 in Kohima, five each in Mokokchung and Phek, two each in Mon, Peren and Longleng and one in Wokha.
Of the 902 active cases in the state, 743 are asymptomatic, 146 mild, eight moderate on oxygen, and five in ICU on ventilator
In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 640 infections, 130 in Kohima, 34 in Mokokchung, 29 in Tuensang, 25 in Wokha, 18 in Peren, nine in Phek, six in Mon, four each in Zunheboto and Kiphire, and three in Longleng.
India’s Covid-19 tally breached four crore-mark on Friday with 2,51,209 (2.51 lakh) new cases reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The total number of Covid-19 infections in the country stands at 4,06,22,709, out of which 21,05,611 are cases, and the death toll climbed to 4,92,327 with 627 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, informed the data updated at 8 am.
Meanwhile, the country’s cumulative recoveries increased to 3,80,24,771 following recuperation of 3,47,443 patients.
The Health ministry’s update went on to inform that the administration of more than 57 lakh doses (57,35,692) of vaccines in the last 24 hours has pushed the vaccination coverage to 1,64,44,73,216 (164.44 crore) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Friday.
