Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 106 new Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, pushing the state’s tally to 28,551 and active caseload to 1,398.
The state’s death toll has increased to 569 with one more patient succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours, while recoveries rose to 25,757 following recuperation of 75 patients.
The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the new cases detected on Saturday, Dimapur accounted for 36 infections, 27 in Peren, 15 in Kohima, 12 in Mokokchung, five in Zunheboto, four in Wokha, three in Tuensang, two in Phek, and one each in Longleng and Mon.
As many as 45 patients in Kohima recovered on Saturday, while Dimapur registered 19 recoveries, Mokokchun 5, Peren- 3, Phek- 2, and Longleng- 1.
Nagaland currently has 1,398 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1132 are asymptomatic, 212 mild, 23 moderate on oxygen, 16 severe on oxygen, eight in ICU without ventilator and seven in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 465 patients cases, 411 in Kohima, 215 in Mokokchung, 84 in Peren, 57 in Tuensang, 43 in Zunheboto, 35 in Longleng, 27 in Mon, 23 in Phek, 21 in Wokha, and 17 in Kiphire.
Meanwhile, India reported 38,628 new coronavirus cases and 617 casualties in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 3,18,95,385 (3.18 crore) and death toll to 4,27,371 (4.27 lakh), according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The country’s active caseload now stands at 4,12,153 (4.12 lakh) at 1.29% of total cases while cumulative recoveries rose to 3,10,55,861 (3.10 crore) with 40,017 patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours.
‘Weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.39% and daily positivity rate at 2.21%,’ the ministry updated.
