Nagaland has registered a total of 62,055 old aged widows and disabled in the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), while 5,203 Adhaar are entered and verified and 603 Adhaar seeded bank account but no Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has been recorded till March 8.
This data was made available on the chief minister’s dashboard. The data provided was from July 14, 2017, to March 8, 2023.
It may be mentioned that NSAP was launched on January 1, 2019, to provide pension to widow old aged and disabled person.
District-wise data showed that Mokokchung has the highest recorded number of old aged widow disabled at 7,905 but only 579 Adhaar are entered and verified and 96 Adhaar seeded bank account and Kohima recorded 7,720 old aged widow disabled but 1,896 Adhaar entered and verified and also 378 Adhaar seeded bank account recorded.
Wokha and Peren districts recorded 6,356 and 2501 old aged widow disabled respectively but there was no Adhaar entered and verified. Districts including Tuensang (6,479 old aged), Zunheboto (6,647) and Longleng (2,381) recorded zero Adhaar seeded bank account. Tuensang district recorded two adhaar entered and verified, while Zunheboto recorded 1,238 and Longleng recorded 23.
That there was no record of Direct Benefit Transfer to any of the districts as per the data provided in the dashboard as on March 8, 2023.
