Nagaland records zero Covid-19 cases for first time in 7 months

Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded no fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, the first in more than seven months. The state last recorded zero case on April 6 this year.

The state’s Covid-19 tally and death toll remained unchanged at 32, 040 and 679 with no positive cases and fatalities registered in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative recoveries have increased to 30,168 with the recuperation of three patients -- one each from Dimapur, Wokha and Mokokchung – and the active caseload declined to 123.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 97 cases are asymptomatic, 17 mild, three moderate on oxygen, two severe on oxygen, two in ICU without ventilator and two in ICU on ventilator out of the total 123 active cases in the state.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 74, 27 in Mokokchung, 17 in Kohima, three in Kiphire, one each in Wokha and Zunheboto, while Peren, Phek, Mon, Tuensang and Longleng are currently Covid-free. 

10302 new in India

India logged 10,302 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, while the active caseload stands at 1,24,868, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It stated that 267 deaths pushed the Covid death toll to 465,349.

Meanwhile, the recovery of 11,787 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,39,09,708.

With the administration of 51,59,931 vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 115.79 crore (1,15,79,69,274).
