Nagaland records 9 new Covid-19 cases; tally inching towards 12,000-mark

Nagaland’s Covid-19 caseload is inching towards 12,000-mark with nine new cases being detected on Monday, taking the state’s tally to 11,987.

An update from the minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, informed that ‘nine positive cases of Covid-19 – seven in Kohima and two in Dimapur -- were detected on Monday.

‘Also, 16 positive patients have recovered; five each Kohima and Mokokchung, and three each from Dimapur and  Peren,’ tweeted the minister.  

According to the information provided by the Health department, Nagaland has 107 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 89 are asymptomatic, 8 mild, six moderate on oxygen, one severe on oxygen and three Critical-ICU. The state has also recorded 11,655 recoveries and 84 deaths, out of which 10 are ‘not Covid-related’.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 64 cases, followed by Kohima-33, Mokokchung-5, Peren-2, and one each in Kiphire, Longleng and Mon, while Tuensang,  Wokha, Phek and Zunheboto have zero cases.
