Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): The Covid-19 death toll in Nagaland has touched 500 with three more casualties reported on Tuesday.
The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that 88 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s tally to 26,140.

Out of the 88 new cases, Kohima reported the highest number of fresh cases at 30, followed by 28 in Mokokchung, eight in Dimapur, six each in Longleng and Mon, four in Phek, three in Zunheboto, and one each in Kiphire, Tuensang and Wokha.

The state also recorded 80 recoveries in the last 24 hours, out of which 35 were in Kohima, 16 in Mokokchung, 15 in Dimapur, and seven each in Kiphire and Mon.
Nagaland currently has 962 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 739 are asymptomatic, 161 mild, 29 moderate on oxygen, 18 severe on oxygen, seven in ICU without ventilator and eight in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 246 infections, 241 in Kohima, 238 in Mokokchung, 40 in Zunheboto, 39 in Mon, 32 each in Wokha and Phek, 27 in Tuensang, 25 in Kiphire, 23 in Longleng, and 19 in Peren.
India reports more than 31K new cases
Meanwhile, India reported 31,443 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which lowest in 118 days, while the death toll climbed to 4,10,784 (4.10 lakh) with 2,020 new casualties, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The country’s Covid-19 tally stands at 3,09,05,819 (3.09 crore) and active caseload at 4,31,315 (4.31 lakh) while 49,007 fresh recoveries took to the cumulative recovery figures to 3,00,63,720 (3 crore) at 97.28% recovery rate.
‘Weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.28%, and daily positivity rate stands at 1.81%, less than 3% for 22 consecutive days,’ read the update.
It went on to inform that cumulative vaccine doses administered so far has reached 38.14 crore across the country.
