Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): As many as 59 new Covid-19 cases were detected in Nagaland on Thursday, pushing the tally to 29,390 and active caseload to 1,024.
The state’s death toll remained the same at 594 with no casualties reported in the last 24 hours and the total recoveries increased to 26,915 after 89 patients recuperated.
The Health and Family Welfare Department informed in an update that out of the 59 new positive cases detected on Thursday, Mokokchung accounted for 19 cases, 18 in Kohima, 13 in Dimapur, three each in Kiphire and Phek, and one each in Mon, Peren and Wokha.
A total of 32 patients in Dimapur, 26 in Mokokchung, 16 in Kohima, six in Longleng, five in Zunheboto, two in Tuensang, and one each in Peren and Phek recovered in the last 24 hours.
Nagaland currently has 1,024 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 790 are asymptomatic, 187 mild, 24 moderate on oxygen, 12 severe on oxygen, four in ICU without ventilator, and seven in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 399, Kohima- 253, Mokokchung- 218, Zunheboto- 39, Wokha- 24, Mon- 20, Kiphire- 18, Longleng- 17, Tuensang- 16, Peren- 16, and Phek- 4.
36,401 new cases in India
India reported 36,401 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday, taking the tally to 3,23,22,258, according to data from the Union Health ministry.
It said the death toll climbed to 4,33,049 with 530 more fatalities, while active caseload remained 3,64,129, which is lowest in 149 days.
Moreover, 39,157 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,15,25,080.
Meanwhile, 56.64 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive so far.
