
Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakam (RBSK) team from Phek comprising Dr. Chikhopalu Vese, medical officer; Neibanuo, GNM; Vekupolu, GNM; and Rukhevinuo, FHW, visited eight schools and two Anganwadi centres during its monthly activities conducted from October 18 to the 27th screened a total of 648 children.
A press release from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, stated that the team screened and treated the children accordingly depending on their ailments. During the screening, cases with dental conditions, cleft up and palate, vitamin deficiencies etc. were referred to District Hospital Phek for further treatment.
Besides, the team held health talks on adolescence and proper nutrition. It added that medicines were provided to the children during the screening.
It mentioned that RBSK is a new initiative with an aim to screen and treat as well as provide early identification and early intervention for children from birth to 18 years to cover 4 Ds namely Defects at birth, Deficiencies, Diseases and development delays and Disabilities.
