Kohima, Nov. 6 (EMN): Lack of sufficient printing works has been the main drawbacks for growth of the printing industry in the state, said Mhiesizokho Zinyu, president of Nagaland Master Printers’ Association (NMPA).
Zinyu stated this while delivering the presidential address to printing community in Nagaland during its general meeting held at AMK Building in Kohima, on Friday. He pointed out that printers in the state are not getting any value printing works from the government.
“While the value of government printing works amount to crores of rupees, most of these printing works are hijacked from source to other states by vested interests and the Nagaland printers are kept hungry,” said Zinyu.
He stated that the association is in touch with the Raj Bhavan and expressed hope of ‘better days in the near future’ for the printing community.
“Printing sector is all set to boom in India due to available technology and resources at economical cost though a big restraint at the moment is GST (Goods and Services Tax),” said the president.
He also urged the members to keep pace with the fast-developing scenario by educating themselves on the latest developments in the industries.
On the occasion, the association also honoured its member Vihu Meyase on being elected as the vice president of the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP). On behalf of the association, NMPA vice president Povotso Lohe congratulated Meyase on his new assignment at the national level.
Also exhorting the members, Meyase urged the NMPA to remain steadfast and work in unity in their pursuit towards the pressing issues pertaining to the association with the government.
The association general secretary, Razouhu Swuro, presented report of the association and also highlighted the activities undertaken by the association. A song was also presented by Ruvelu Chuzho.
