KOHIMA — The premiere and screening of "Fallen Rise", a bilingual feature film in Angami and Assamese, was held on Saturday at Hotel Vivor in Kohima. The event was attended by Advisor for School Education Kekhrielhoulie Yhome as the honoured guest.
Written and directed by Joon Khound under the production of Golden Signature and Hillock Films, the movie features a main cast consisting of Vimegolhou, Zapusazo, Kelhouvino, Pelevono, Karishma, Inja, and Sunny.
The technical crew includes Casting Director Zapusazo Serie, Sound Recordist Zakielhoukho Serie, Music and Sound Designer Nipu Khound, and Director of Photography Lanusunep Pongen. The film was shot in Mezoma and Guwahati.
Following the premiere screening, the makers informed that the film will soon hit theatres for the public in Kohima, Chümoukedima, and Jotsoma, with the hope of reviving and revolutionising cinema for filmmakers in Nagaland. Filming for the project began in 2022, taking nearly three and a half years to be released.

"Fallen Rise" depicts the journey of Agholou, a young man from Mezoma village in Nagaland who rises from poverty, overcoming personal failures and heartbreaking loss. He moves to Guwahati to pursue his dreams, but after falling into bad habits, debt, and financial troubles, a family tragedy becomes a turning point in his life. Determined to change, he embraces hard work and education. Through perseverance, integrity, and faith, he eventually becomes a respected medical professional, a businessman, and a respected figure in society.
Advisor Yhome congratulated everyone involved in the film and expressed hope that the movie would participate in film competitions and festivals.
Sharing his experience of making the movie, director Joon Khound stated that he decided to base the story on student life because every year, many students travel from different places to major cities for higher education, but some get distracted from their ambitions and fail to fulfil their goals.
He explained that he decided to make a bilingual movie, as the script provided the scope for it, with the first part shot in Nagaland, the middle in Assam, and the conclusion back in Nagaland. The director also shared details about the casting and locations, as well as the challenges faced during filming and post-production.
