Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president, K Therie, on Tuesday condemned the resolution passed by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on the Mon killing incident at the special session, saying that “the people want justice not apology”.
The press release from Therie came just a day after the NLA passed a 5-point resolution including condemnation of the Mon incident, repealing of AFSPA and seeking an apology from the appropriate authority, along with an assurance to deliver justice to the victims by applying the laws of the land upon those who perpetrated the inhuman massacre and upon those responsible for the incident.
The NPCC president stated that the call for an apology over a massacre is an insult to the bereaved families and the people of the state. He added that the chief minister and Home minister are answerable to the people on the entry of the Indian security personnel to the state.
“People’s demand is justice. We want the culprits be booked according to law,” read the press release. “Given opportunity Congress will deliver justice,” it added.
