  • S Supongmeren Jamir, Christopher Tilak, C Apok Jamir, Khriedi Theünuo, and others during the district-level Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan and Workers Sammelan held at North Point, Zunheboto, on May 17.

  • DIMAPUR — Senior leaders of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) conducted an organisational tour across various districts of Nagaland from May 14 to the 17th, led by S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and president of the NPCC.

  • According to an update, he was accompanied by Christopher Tilak, All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary in charge of Nagaland; NPCC working presidents C Apok Jamir and Khriedi Theünuo; and other senior party leaders.

  • The tour began in the Mon district, where a programme was held at Congress Bhavan during which District Congress Committee (DCC) party workers were encouraged to unite and reaffirm their collective commitment to strengthening the party across Nagaland.

  • Supongmeren held discussions with the Konyak Union and Konyak Mothers’ Association. He later visited the construction site of Mon Medical College, where he assessed the progress and spoke with officials and workers on site. He emphasised the importance of completing the medical institution on time to improve healthcare services in the district.

  • He also met Lalit Kumar, Officer Commanding, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), to discuss the status of ongoing road and infrastructure works in the region. The MP praised the BRO’s efforts and assured full support to enhance road connectivity in the district.

  • Additionally, he held discussions with the Mon district administration and later met with the anghs and elders of Totok Chingnyu, Totok Chingkho, and Totok Chingha villages. He listened to their concerns about connectivity, development, and the preservation of traditional governance, assuring them of his support.

  • In Longleng district, Christopher, Apok, and Khriedi met with Longleng DCC officials and workers, encouraging them to remain active and committed to the party’s values.

  • The delegation proceeded to Noklak, where they addressed a gathering of party workers at Congress Bhavan, calling for dedication, unity, and strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level.

  • In Tuensang, the team met with the DCC Tuensang and held a session to motivate and guide grassroots party workers. A district-level Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan (Save Constitution Campaign) and Congress Workers Sammelan took place at Congress Bhavan, Tuensang, with key messages delivered by Christopher and other senior NPCC leaders.

  • The tour concluded in Zunheboto, where another district-level Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan and Workers Sammelan was held at North Point. The programme, held on May 17, was attended by Supongmeren and other dignitaries.

  • Supongmeren addressed the gathering, thanked the party workers for their commitment, and encouraged everyone to continue working in unity for a better future.
