Nagaland Pollution Control Board makes presentation on SWM Rules in Atoizu — NPCB officials with the town council members at waste dumping site in Atoizu on May 14.

DIMAPUR — A team from Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) led by Akangmeren Imchen (Scientist C) conducted a presentation on the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026 for officers from the district administration and members of Atoizu Town Council (ATC) on May 14 at the office of ATC chairperson.

An update from the Board stated that the programme focused on proper municipal solid waste management practices, environmental protection measures, waste segregation, scientific disposal mechanisms and the responsibilities of urban local bodies under the applicable environmental laws and regulations.

After the presentation, the team accompanied by with EAC of Atoizu and members of ATC visited the waste dumping site for field inspection and assessment of the existing waste management system and disposal practices.
