DIMAPUR — Nearly 8,000 candidates have completed applications for the ongoing Nagaland Police recruitment drive, according to an update issued by the department on Sunday.

As of 5 pm on October 12, a total of 9,471 candidates had registered on the recruitment portal, of which 7,987 have paid the examination fee of INR 300.

The department noted that several candidates who registered are yet to make the payment and reminded them to do so before the deadline on November 7, 2025, to be eligible for the recruitment.

Online registration for the 1,176 constable (GD) posts in the Nagaland Police opened on October 6 and will remain active until November 7. This marks the first time the department has adopted a fully digital application process, with no physical forms being accepted.

The upper age limit has been relaxed to 38 years, allowing those who missed earlier opportunities, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, to apply.

During a press conference on September 30, Director General of Police (DGP) Rupin Sharma had said that the recruitment process was designed to ensure fairness and transparency, with measures such as a one-time registration covering future recruitments and uniform entry into IR battalions.

The DGP had also cautioned candidates against any form of bribery or influence, emphasising that the process would be conducted strictly on merit. The recruitment exercise, expected to take around four months to complete, is part of the department’s efforts to build a more efficient and future-ready Nagaland Police force, he said.
