KOHIMA, OCTOBER 5: Nagaland Police (Blue) defeated PK United FC Viswema 5-0 to advance to the next round of the ongoing NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy here at Kohima local ground.
The police team took an early lead when Ruokuozhazo Keyho scored in the 2nd minute of the match. More celebration followed for the police as Muluvuto Rhakho and Imsumanen Jamir scored the second and third goal respectively. Lamphong Aomeshu scored the fourth goal in the 28th minute; while Aomshu went on to score his second goal in the 60th minute to end the match 5-0.
Earlier, playing the first match of the day, Nagaland University, Kohima campus defeated Dahou United 2-0 to make it to the next round. The goals for NU were both scored by Keyiculeung. He scored the first goal in the 25th minute, while the second was scored during stoppage time in the second-half.
In the second match, Ziekezou SC downed Pfosemei FC via a tie-breaker to make it to the next round. Pfosemei netted the first goal in the 12th minute through Elow Asakho, however, Ziekezou ‘s Aniengu scored the equalizer in the 19th minute to take the match to penalty shoot-out.
Playing the third match, P Vizheto FC also advanced to the next round following their 5-0 victory over Tsosinyu Students’ Union.
A Lalqintluanga led from the front with a hat-trick. Lalqintluanga scored the first goal in the 18th minute, followed by Kaqhevi’s goal in the 27th minute. Lalqintluanga went on to score his second goal in the 34th minute, while Agangpu scored the fourth goal for Vizheto FC during the stoppage time of the first half.
Moving into the second half, Lalqintluanga scored his third goal to join the list of hat-trick scorers of the ongoing tournament.
Meanwhile, the organizers have informed that there will be no matches on Wednesday (October 5) on account of AYO observance of “A moment of solidarity to enable our environment.” To commemorate the day, ASU has also called for a social work at Kohima local ground and its vicinity from 10 am onwards.
