The Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Marcofed Ltd. handed over ten sets of computers to the Nagaland Police's Inspector General of Police (Int.) office as part of their CSR initiative.

KOHIMA — In a boost to digital infrastructure of the state police, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Marcofed Ltd. jointly handed over ten sets of computers to the Nagaland Police's Inspector General of Police (Int.) office as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The computers were handed over by representatives of the two companies to the IGP (Int) office at a ceremony held at the IGP conference hall in Kohima on Friday.
Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, in his address, said the computer sets are for field units of the Int. department. With the new equipment in place, Sharma said he expects a definite improvement in the quality of information, and error-free reports from the Int. office.

The police chief also requested IOC for additional help in setting up of the state police-owned gas stations in different parts of the state.
Rothihu Tetseo, IGP (Int), said that though the department is one of the main backbones of the state police, but due to the lack of infrastructure, they are unable to deal with basic works. He expressed hope that the new computers will significantly upgrade the department's digital capabilities.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Hq.), Kevizasinuo Lucy Yhome, informed that the computers will be utilised in the district intelligence offices, particularly in the most remote parts of the state.
Speaking briefly on the company, Anshu Moudgil, GM (RS), Indian Oil Assam Division, said that the company has around 40,000 retail outlets and generates INR 8 lakh crore per annum. Established in 1959, the company is now more than 50 years manufacturing and supplying not only petrol, diesel and gas but also other products as well.
He said the initiative is just the beginning and that more CSR initiatives would be introduced in the days to come.
Marcofed Ltd. Chairman M Chuba Ao also highlighted briefly about the company.
