DIMAPUR — Continuing with its state-wide operation to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances as well as Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), the Nagaland Police registered 17 cases and arrested 28 persons between May 16 and 31.
Under narcotic and psychotropic substances, police registered 9 cases and arrested 21 persons. It also recovered 466.92 gram of brown sugar and 57 gram of heroin, stated a DIPR report.
Police also recovered 4740 cases of liquor and registered 7 cases besides arresting 6 persons.
During the period, police arrested one person and recovered one .22 rifle along with six rounds of live ammunition and one magazine.
Report stated that intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants etc., has been launched to prevent any such illegal activity.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Police appealed to the public to provide information on sale/ distribution of any form of narcotics/ drugs/ IMFL etc., to the nearest police station or narcotic police station.
It informed that the CUG (closed user group) phone numbers of various Nagaland Police officers and police stations are available at ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile App. It added that identity of the informant would be kept confidential.
