The Nagaland Pencak Silat team win two gold and one silver medal to finish as second runners-up at the Khelo India Beach Games 2026 in Diu.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pencak Silat team emerged as the second runners-up in the discipline of Pencak Silat at the second edition of the Khelo India Beach Games, underway at Ghoghla Beach, Diu, from January 5 to the 11th.
According to an update, Nagaland secured a total of three medals—two gold and one silver—in the Combat Match category (Tanding).
The medal winners are Kitenlo K Thono (gold), Nyia K Thono (gold), and Hatneinem Khongsai (silver).

The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association expressed gratitude to Kethosituo Sekhose, director of Youth Resources and Sports, along with his department officials, as well as Chef de Mission Jakpolong Alinger and Liaison Officer Lokivi Assumi for their support, guidance, and encouragement.
The Khelo India Beach Games is an initiative of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The event features around 1300 athletes from 31 states and union territories competing across eight sporting disciplines over six days.
