
Dimapur, Feb. 6 (EMN): Nagaland Pencak Silat Association team won 35 medals – 19 gold, three silver and 13 bronze -- in the 3rd North East Pencak Silat Championship held from February 1 to the 3rd at Dhekiajuli in Assam. This was informed by the association through a press release on Thursday.
Nagaland Pencak Silat Association president Khevishe Sema felicitated the winners with cash award and certificates at a felicitation programme held at Immanuel Hall, Y Zhimo Colony, Dimapur on February 5, it informed. Sema stated that he was proud of the medal winners who brought laurels to the state and encouraged them to take up sports and education simultaneously in order to “excel in life”.

The update went on to say that the state team was led by Deep Kumar and the association is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Olympic Council of Asia, International Pencak Silat Federation, Asian Pencak Silat Federation, Asian Games 2018 - Jakarta, Indonesia, South East Asia Games, Sports Authority of India, Association of Indian Universities and School Games Federation of India.
