
Dimapur, March 1 (EMN): The chief resident commissioner and additional chief secretary to the government of Nagaland, Jyoti Kalash, inaugurated a National Handloom Expo 2022 in the presence of Wennyei Konyak, deputy resident commissioner of Nagaland House, at Handloom Haat in Janpath, New Delhi.
It stated that 25 stalls from Nagaland were put up to showcase the handloom products of the state out of the total 80 stalls at the expo. The expo is being sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner for Handloom, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, an update from Nagaland House PRO informed.
It stated that 17 states across the country are taking part in the ongoing National Handloom Expo.
It said that Jyoti Kalash had visited all the 80 stalls and interacted with the participants. He also encouraged the entrepreneurs especially from Nagaland and Northeastern states and stated that the best loom shawls were produced from the Northeast.
In the inaugural function, around 10 officials from the Ministry including the manager of Nagaland Emporium, Taka Temsu, and staff of Nagaland House were present at the function.
