Nagaland Open Women Football League: KISCE thrash NAYSA-C; FAPD, Hilly Girls settle for draw

KOHIMA — The first match of the day played between Hilly Girls FC and Football Association Phek District (FAPD) ended in a 1-1 draw at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on Tuesday.

The 1st Nagaland Open Women Football League is currently underway at the IG stadium.

Kekhriekhonuo opened the account for Hilly Girls FC by scoring a goal just 21 minutes into the game but Kele-ii Losou scored an equalizer for FAPD to end the match in a draw.

In the second match of the day, Khelo India State Centre of Excellence, Kohima (KISCE) thrashed the Northern Angami Youth and Sports Association-C (NAYSA-C) 7-0 with Khrotsou scoring a hat-trick after Akhala Jamir scored the opening goal, while Imlimerenb and Kekhriesenuo scored a goal apiece.

Exhibition match on final day

Meanwhile, the department of Youth Resources and Sports has informed that a football exhibition match for above 40 (as on July 1 2023) between the Youth Resources and Sports dept. XI and Nagaland Football Association XI at 3 pm on July 1 at IG stadium, to mark the culmination of the 1st Nagaland Open Women Football League-cum-knockout.
