The Nagaland Olympic Association and affiliated sports bodies planted 2,036 trees across Nagaland on Olympic Day.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), alongside the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), and other affiliated associations, organised tree plantation drives across the state to celebrate Olympic Day on Tuesday.
A total of 2,036 trees were planted across Nagaland on the theme of "Move, inspire, together", stated an update.
In line with the initiative of the Indian Olympic Association and in support of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Forest initiative, the event witnessed the participation of various sports associations.
According to a press release, the tree plantation reflects the NOA’s dedication to promoting sporting excellence alongside environmental consciousness within communities. Through this initiative, the association hopes to inspire citizens, especially the youth, to contribute towards preserving nature while upholding the spirit of the Olympic Movement.
The NOA expressed its appreciation to all sports associations, athletes, officials, volunteers, organisations, and members who supported and contributed to the drive.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Wrestling Association organised its tree-planting drive within the premises of the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima.
According to a press statement issued by NWA Joint Secretary Kuzhovesa Soho, more than 60 tree saplings provided by the NOA office were planted by 16 members, including NWA officials and wrestlers.
The NWA further expressed hope that all sports associations under the NOA will take care of the planted tree saplings and preserve them for the benefit of future generations.
