Kohima, Dec. 7 (EMN): Nagaland observed armed force flag day with director of Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland, along with 20 ex-servicemen calling on the Governor on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day.
During his speech, PB Acharya extended his best wishes to all the members of the armed force, ex- servicemen and their families.
He also stated that the day was observed to salute all the veterans of the armed force and the civilians who have sacrificed their lives for the procurement of peace in one’s garden.
State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, in an official statement, appealed to all citizens to contribute generously towards the annual armed force flag day, which would go a long way in supplementing the efforts of the government for the welfare of war widows, disabled soldiers and the ex- servicemen and serving soldiers who have been safeguarding the nation from external aggression and comes to the aid of civil authorities at the time of natural calamities and disasters.
