Wokha, Sep. 6 (EMN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) under the department of Rural Development department organised a FSSAI Mela in Wokha town on September 6 with Peterson Pongener, food safety officer (designated) from the office of the CMO, Kohima, and Zhohu Puro, food safety officer from the department of Health and family Welfare, Kohima, as the resource persons.
Speaking on the occasion, the programme manager of Chukitong block, Janthungbemo N Ezung, encouraged the participants to make the best use of their learning through the FSSAI mela.
Peterson Pongener has highlighted on the importance of FSSAI registration, which is mandatory for the food manufacturing entrepreneurs. He stated that FSSAI is aimed at preventing food adulteration and emphasis on healthy and nutritious food for the consumers.
Zhohu Puro has led in FSSAI registration in which 15 entrepreneurs from the district enthusiastically participated in the mela.
Altogether, 150 SHG memberss, both from Wokha and Chukitong block participated in the FSSAI mela.
Meanwhile, Daniel Ovung, non-farm district functional specialist from mission management unit, thanked the resource persons and all the participants for making the FSSAI mela a success. He also encouraged the participants to register their products with FSSAI for wider market and consumers.
