Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Reiterating the stand of the NSCN (IM), its chairman, Q Tuccu, has called upon the Naga people to rise to occasion and defend their political identity as symbolised by the Naga national flag and constitution (Yehzabo).
Delivering his presidential speech during the Tatar Hoho budget session of the GPRN held on March 23 at its council headquarters (CHq), Hebron, Tuccu said, “The ongoing Indo-Naga political talks that has entered a critical stage is being watched with much curiosity by the people around the world because it matters how the Naga people rise up to the occasion to defend their political identity as symbolised by the Naga national flag and the constitution (Yehzabo). We cannot afford to waver in this crucial stage. We have to take our stand no matter what the heat of the pressure that may come”.
He called upon the NSCN members to exercise revolutionary responsibility to forbear any hardship which might come their way by saying, “We must look forward and display fortitude to carry on with our struggle,” the NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP has quoted Tuccu as stated.
Meanwhile, NSCN (IM) has reacted to the statement of Nagaland minister, Temjen Imna Along, stating that his nonsensical utterance on the Naga flag and constitution has put himself in the hot glare of the Naga people. It castigated him for being utterly insensitive to the reality of the Naga history and the God’s given political identity as a nation and as a people.
NSCN (IM) stated that his utterances have only exposed his heartless and cruel mentality exploiting every given opportunity to castigate the very symbols that identify the Nagas that they are not a lost people.
“Who is Temjen Along who defiantly chose words to go headlong against the Naga people’s political identity with his infuriating statement saying “Flag and constitution are not achievable? A boy of yesterday in political arena but in a damning hurry to make his presence felt by dancing madly to the anti-Naga tune played by his political mentors, RSS/BJP,” NSCN stated.
It stated that much before Imna Along was given birth to this earth, thousands of Naga people have attained martyrdom defending the legitimate historical and political rights of the Nagas as symbolised by the Naga flag and the constitution. It added that many have embraced death to give a better future to our motherland.
NSCN IM) maintained that the rainbow flag of the Naga nation was something very uniquely made adding it was designed as divinely inspired and was not the brainwork of anybody. It stated that Naga national flag symbolised the covenant between God and the Naga people. It said the Naga people cannot be so unfaithful and treacherous to forsake what God has given to lead them as a nation and as a people.
While stating that it has no objection to Imna Along’s desperateness to establish his political base backed by his mentor BJP/RSS, the NSCN (IM) has advised him not fiddle with the Naga flag and the constitution in the process that is too big for his size. It further added that the Naga flag and the constitution are something too big for his flamboyant political gamble.
