NPP appoints A Nyamnyei Konyak as Legislature Party leader and forms an interim committee for its Nagaland unit
KOHIMA — The National People's Party (NPP) has appointed A Nyamnyei Konyak, MLA, as the new leader of its Legislature Party in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, replacing Nuklutoshi with immediate effect.
The appointment was announced through an order issued by NPP National President Conrad K Sangma, who said the decision was taken under the powers vested in him by the party constitution to strengthen the party's legislative wing in Nagaland.
With the appointment, Nuklutoshi has been relieved of his responsibilities as Legislature Party leader. The order directed party leaders, office-bearers and members to extend full cooperation to Konyak in the discharge of his duties.
In a separate order, the NPP also constituted an Interim State Committee for its Nagaland unit with immediate effect, pending the appointment of a new state president through the party's organisational process.

The committee comprises Chuba Jamir, James Vizo, Audrey Jamir, Eje Wangnyu Konyak and H Khumtimong Sangtam, representing the National People's Youth Front.
According to the order, the interim committee will assist the National Working President and the National Committee while carrying out responsibilities assigned by the National Working President or the National Headquarters from time to time.
The arrangement will remain in force until a new Nagaland state president is appointed. During the interim period, the committee will function in consultation with the National Working President and the National President.
