DIMAPUR — Birgitte Damberg, a Norwegian vocalist, lyricist, and composer who is working on a new project in collaboration with Nagaland’s renowned poet Easterine Kire, is ready with the second single ‘What If’. Following the release of their first single ‘Will tomorrow ever come’ in August, the team is ready to launch their second single.
An update issued on Wednesday informed that Damberg has been performing her own material for over 20 years to delighted audiences with her own trio.
The Birgitte Damberg Trio kicked off in 2002 with the single ‘Now’, followed by ‘Time’ in 2016. In 2022 she released ‘Midtveis’, her first album with Norwegian lyrics. For the first time, in the new album, she has written music to lyrics by others.

The single ‘What if,’ a tribute to life and love is said to consist of two parts. The first half is a funk-inspired cornucopia with a swinging rhythm and musical whimsy that brings out a smile. The second part shifts to a more thoughtful feel, with an almost sacral expression, the update informed.
Easterine Kire, an award-winning poet and author who has published poems, short stories, novels and children's books, lives in Norway since 2005.
The single ‘What If’ -- a collaboration between Damberg and her husband Åsmund Reistad with Kire—which will be released on August 22 encourages both a trip to the dance floor and a moment of reflection. ‘What if’ is also said to be the title of the album and book that will be launched on October 10.
