Coordination meet for I-Day held at Mangkolemba
DIMAPUR — A coordination meeting to plan the Independence Day programme for 2025 took place on Wednesday at the ADC conference hall, Mangkolemba, Mokokchung. According to a DIPR report, during this meeting, responsibilities related to the Independence Day celebrations were assigned to various departments, and detailed discussions were held regarding other activities planned for the extravaganza event. The meeting was led by Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Mangkolemba, Rohbi Sangtam, and attended by the heads of offices within Mangkolemba.
New restaurant inaugurated in Jalukie town
DIMAPUR — Valley Bean Restaurant was officially opened in Jalukie town, Peren, on Wednesday. It is located in the BSUN building near the SBI branch, according to a DIPR report. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, along with the ADC Jalukie, sub-divisional officer (civil), extra assistant commissioner headquarters, and Jalukie Town Council councillors, led by the deputy chairman. The restaurant offers a range of coffees, brunch items, family meal packs, and main courses.

NAWOD condemns attempt to rape and murder
DIMAPUR — The Northern Angami Women Organisation Dimapur (NAWOD) has condemned the attempt to rape and murder on a mother of four by one Khrietuolie Kense from Tsiemekhu Basa on July 16. While condemning the cruelty inflicted upon the mother, it has demanded stringent punishment for the accused person as per the provisions of law and not granted bail, stating that the person is a threat to society. It has further called to end crimes, rape and violence against women and girl children.
Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland convenes consultative meeting
DIMAPUR — The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) has convened its general assembly-cum-consultative meeting on August 8 at Tening town hall at 11 am. An update from the organisation stated that the assembly has been called to discuss pertinent issues relating to social and political matters affecting Zeliangrong people.
It has asked representatives from all Zeliangrong civil society organisations, Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation (NZPO), Zeme Council, Liangmai Council, Rongmei Council and its frontal organisations, namely, Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation, Zeliangrong Students’ Union (ZSUN), Zeliangrong Youth Organisation (ZYON), Zeliang Students’ Union, GBs’ Union Peren, Chairmen’s Union Peren, and VDB Association Peren as well as the chairman, head GB and village secretary from each village to attend the meeting. It has asked all concerned to attend the assembly with relevant suggestions and inputs for effective deliberation.
GPRN/NSCN recovers autorickshaw
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur town command of GPRN/NSCN recently apprehended a habitual vehicle thief and recovered a passenger autorickshaw bearing registration No. AS-09-BC-0473 with Chassis No. MD2B51BX0MWF12027 and Engine No. AZXWMF81130. It has asked the rightful owner to claim the autorickshaw by producing original documents within seven days. It has asked the owner to contact its official at phone No. 9862199998 for further information. It further stated that a claim of ownership after the expiry of the stipulated time would not be entertained.
