Kiphire District TB Mukt Bharat Committee reviews activities
DIMAPUR — The District TB Mukt Bharat Committee of Kiphire held a meeting at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office chamber in Kiphire on September 8. According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by DC Kiphire Temsuwati Longkumer. During the meeting, the District Programme Officer (DPO) of Kiphire presented the subject matter covering the current status, progress, achievements, challenges, gaps, and other relevant aspects pertaining to tuberculosis elimination activities in the district. Members of the District TB Mukt Bharat Committee attended the meeting.
Youth Festival for Dimapur, Niuland scheduled
The District Youth Resources and Sports Office, Dimapur, has announced that the District Level Youth Festival for Dimapur and Niuland will be held on September 16 and September 17, respectively. According to a press release, the festival for Dimapur will be conducted at the MDSC Indoor Hall on September 16, while the event for Niuland will take place at the Old Showuba Public Ground on September 17. The festival will feature competitions in folk song, folk dance, and declamation. All interested individuals, clubs, cultural troupes, higher secondary schools, and colleges have been invited to submit their letters of interest to the office on or before September 14. FGN directs Nagas to abstain from Indian census drive
The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has directed the general Naga public to abstain from enrolling in the Indian census drive. According to a notification issued by Cabinet Secretary Ipuakteung Riame, the directive was based on a decision taken during a meeting of the Council of Kilonsers of the FGN. The notification stated that the present Indian census drive is not for the Naga nation but purely for counting the Indian population. In view of this, the general Naga public has been directed to abstain from enrolment in the Indian census drive in the future.
Assam Rifles conducts medical camp at Phelungre village
Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp at Phelungre village in Kiphire district on September 8 to provide accessible healthcare services to villagers residing in remote and underserved areas. According to a DIPR report, the camp was organised by the Company Operating Base (COB) Phelungre village under the Kiphire District Battalion. During the camp, a total of 150 villagers and 30 students of the Government Primary School (GPS) underwent medical check-ups and received free consultations, medicines, and basic health advice. Special attention was accorded to the students through health screening and medical assessments.
