excommunicates 3
- DIMAPUR — The Trongar Suhro, Tuensang, has
excommunicated three of its members for violation and practice of endogamy
(marriage within same clan) which is strictly prohibited as per the customary
laws of the village. The excommunicated members are Roseli Sangtam, son of late
Arentuba Sangtam; Roptsingkyü, son of late Ilemong, and Tsapichem, son of
Likokba, the Trongar Suhro stated in a press release. “Henceforth, the citizens
of Trongar Suhrowill bear no responsibilities for any actions committed by the
above mentioned persons,” it added.
- Assam Rifles to conduct firing
drills in Kohima
- DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner's Office,
Kohima, has announced that the 13 Assam Rifles will conduct small arms firing
drills at the Kohima Garrison Firing Range from July 1 to the 31st.

- All concerned villages, ward authorities, and Panchayats
under Kohima town have been advised not to enter the Firing Range area or take
cattle for grazing near the firing area during this period, a DIPR report
stated. The notification was issued to ensure the safety of the general public.
- Vehicular restriction
at Zubza bridge
- DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Niuland
has imposed restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles passing through the
Zubza (Atughoki) bridge, Niuland. In an order, the DC stated that the
restrictions include, one vehicle at a time, only 2-axle (6-wheel) heavy
vehicles allowed (limited to 30 such vehicles daily) and 3-axle (10-wheel) and
larger vehicles banned. Defaulters will face a INR 10,000 fine and vehicle
seizure, the order added.
