Unidentified body recovered
DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police on Wednesday recovered one unidentified male body of a non-Naga, aged around 50-55 years, beside the railway track near the railway bazaar towards the Lumding end. A police report stated that the body was taken to the morgue of District Hospital, Dimapur, for postmortem examination after completion of all legal formalities. The deceased was wearing half-pants and a blue t-shirt and was barefoot. Friends and relatives of the deceased are asked to contact the officer in charge of the Government Railway Police Station, Dimapur, on phone no. 7085055021 for further information.
Rajya Sabha MP greets Lotha community
DIMAPUR — Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, S Phangnon Konyak, has greeted the Lotha community on the occasion of the Tokhü Emong festival. In her message, she stated that the beautiful festival reminds everyone to reconcile and strengthen bonds, to give thanks for a bountiful harvest and to honour the memory of departed loved ones. She wished that the spirit of Tokhü Emong fill every home with joy, peace and prosperity. She further wished that the festive season bring happiness, unity and blessings to all.

Kohima Police arrest uncle in Vihozhonu Zao murder case
District-level essay competition held at GHSS Shamator
DIMAPUR — In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a district-level essay competition was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Shamator, on November 4. Athsangla Wongcham from St. Xavier School Shamator emerged as the winner, while Tsuvichen of GHS Shamator and Hanshito L of St. Xavier School were declared first and second runners-up, respectively, a DIPR report stated. Kongkhao Khiamniungan, principal of GHSS Shamator, thanked all the participants and teachers for making the competition a success.
SP Phek launches ‘Project ROSHINI’
DIMAPUR — The Superintendent of Police (SP) Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, launched “Project ROSHINI: Light for Education” in Phek, aimed at creating libraries, donating books, and motivating students to read and write more. According to an update, Dr. Kaur conducted classes for school students and urged them to work hard and make books their best friends, encouraging them to strive towards making society more progressive and peaceful. As part of the initiative, libraries were created and books donated at four locations—Holy Care School, Phek; Christian Mission Higher Secondary School; Police Reserve; and Bishop Abraham Memorial School, Phek.
GPRN/NSCN Angami region clarifies
DIMAPUR — Apropos the news report under the headline ‘GPRN Angami region issues warning’, which was published in the November 5 issue of this newspaper, the group has clarified that the nomenclature should be read as ‘GPRN/NSCN Unification Angami region’ and not as published.
