Lotha Eloe Hoho condemns Nagaland House incident
DIMAPUR — The Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) has expressed solidarity with Prof. Dolly Kikon, Prof. Sanjay Barbora, the Naga Scholars’ Association (NSA), and scholars and students following a reported incident at Nagaland House, RK Puram, New Delhi, on September 15. In a statement, the hoho condemned the reported discourteous conduct towards the invited scholars and participants and expressed concern over the manner in which the matter was handled. The LEH stated that Nagaland House, as the government of Nagaland’s representative establishment in the national capital, should uphold professionalism, courtesy and respect in its dealings with scholars, visitors and members of the public. Taking note of the reported apology and assurance to examine the matter, the organisation called for a fair and transparent inquiry and appropriate action based on its findings. The LRH reiterated its solidarity with those affected and reaffirmed its commitment to upholding dignity, respect and responsible institutional conduct.
Tuensang opens 2-wheeler taxi permit applications
The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has invited applications from eligible candidates for allotment of two-wheeler taxi permits under the Transport department notification dated August 13, 2019. The initiative aims to promote self-employment opportunities among unemployed indigenous inhabitants of Tuensang district, a DIPR report stated. Applicants must be indigenous inhabitants of Tuensang, aged between 20 and 40 years as on the last date of submission, and possess a valid driving licence. Application forms can be obtained from the DC’s office on payment of INR 100 and the last date for submission is October 1. Applicants must submit an indigenous inhabitant certificate/permanent resident certificate, valid driving licence, unemployment certificate issued by the District Employment Officer and government-issued identity proof such as Aadhaar, Voter ID or PAN card. The list of shortlisted candidates for the riding/driving test will be displayed at the DC and District Transport Office on October 6.
Chiephobozou reviews PM SVANidhi Special Campaign
A meeting of the Town Vending Committee, Chiephobozou, in connection with the PM SVANidhi Special Campaign 2026 was held on September 17 at the office chamber of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Chiephobozou. The meeting was chaired by Vekusheyi Rhakho, ADC Chiephobozou, who briefed the members on the objectives and key components of the campaign, scheduled to culminate on September 30, an official update stated. The committee discussed measures for effective implementation of the campaign, with emphasis on facilitating access to the scheme and ensuring that eligible street vendors benefit from it. It was also informed that a Lok Kalyan Mela will be held on September 23 at the Chiephobozou Town Council Hall as part of the campaign.
Dimapur DPDB meeting on Sept. 23
Dimapur, Sep. 20 (EMN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Dimapur district for September has been scheduled for September 23 at 10:30 am at the DC’s conference hall, Dimapur. According to the Office of the District Planning Machinery, Dimapur, the meeting will be chaired by the chairperson, DPDB, Dimapur. All members of the board have been requested to attend the meeting.
