CM Rio reviews Rev. Graham’s Kohima visit
DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday convened a meeting with the organising committee for the proposed visit and reception programme of Rev. Franklin Graham in Kohima on November 30. Informing about the meeting on X, the chief minister wrote, “Grateful for the spirit of unity & dedication shown in the preparations so far. We look forward in faith to a blessed & memorable time.”
Taxes department launches online professions tax portal
DIMAPUR — To facilitate ease of doing business in Nagaland, the Commissioner of Taxes has informed that the State Taxes Department has developed an application software for registration and payment of professions tax. The application software for registration has been rolled out with effect from October 1, 2025, and made available in the department's website www.nagalandtax.nic.in for access by all concerned, a DIPR report stated. Persons liable for registration and payment of professions tax have been directed to get themselves registered or enrolled, as the case maybe. For further queries, one may call 7005080401 or visit the nearest State Taxes office.
LJD extends birthday greetings to Rio
DIMAPUR — National president of the Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) Javed Raza, on behalf of the party, has extended birthday greetings to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on his 75th birthday. In his greeting message, Raza stated that Rio’s “tenure as the chief minister of Nagaland has created history” and that the state has witnessed lots of development.

Sakhi OSC inaugurated in Niuland town
DIMAPUR — Sakhi One-Stop Centre was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Niuland Sara S Jamir at Niuland town on Tuesday. In her address, the DC, who is also the chairperson of Mission Shakti, highlighted the important role of Sakhi OSC in upholding the dignity and security of women, an update stated. Jamir also acknowledged the efforts of Sakhi-OSC team and contribution of DHEW staff towards the successful inauguration of the OSC building. She requested the members present to disseminate awareness in their respective areas on the presence and functions of the OSC. The programme was chaired by Nitokali Awomi, psychosocial counsellor, while the welcome note was given by Avonuo Kire SDO (C) Niuland.
NPF condoles loss of Pusazo Luruo's son
DIMAPUR — Naga People’s Front (NPF) has condoled the demise of Zaseta Luruo, son of NPF working president Pusazo Luruo, who passed away on Monday evening at the CHISR Dimapur. “The loss of a young and promising life is truly heartbreaking, and words fall short of easing the pain they are enduring. We pray that God grants them strength and comfort as they go through this irreparable loss,” the NPF stated in a condolence message.
ANCSU notifies on scholarship disbursement
DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has informed that disbursement for Post Matric Scholarship ST (second phase) for the year 2024-2025 has commenced on Tuesday. As informed by the Directorate of Higher Education the beneficiary list of second phase will be uploaded in the department's website (https://highereducation.nagaland.gov.in) once the disbursal is completed, the union stated in an update.
