SVC flays act of dumping corpse
Dimapur, Dec. 6 (EMN): Sovima Village Council (SVC) has vehemently condemned the act of dumping a dead body within its jurisdiction by unidentified persons on December 5. Terming the act as ‘outrageous violation’ of the sanctity and honour of any Naga village, the council stated that it deserved condemnation by every right-thinking citizen. It has viewed the profane act of disposing the corpse in its village with utter resentment, indignation and disgust. The council secretary, Ruokuosilie Rupreo, expressed confidence that the law enforcing agencies would be able to identify the perpetrators and bring them to book at the earliest. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
Lhisemia to inaugurate ancestral gate
Dimapur, Dec. 6 (EMN): The first Lhisemia Kharu (ancestral gate) will be inaugurated on December 10 at Meriibotsa, New Secretariat area, Kohima, at 11 am. The event is being organised by the Lhisemia Council of Kohima village. It informed that Helevio Solo, chairman of Kohima Village Council, would be the special guest, while Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA of 10th Northern Angami 1 AC, would be the guest of honour. The special guest would ceremonially inaugurate the Kharu, while the guest of honour would unfurl the flag. Meanwhile, the organisers informed that Billy Graham Road would be closed during the entire duration of the programme.
DNSU informs on paid parking
Dimapur, Dec. 6 (EMN): Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) notified that it has arranged for paid parking at Christian Higher Secondary School campus with effect from December 7 to the 24th. It informed the citizens to avail the facility by paying INR 20 for two wheelers and INR 30 for four wheelers. The union requested the public to avail the parking arrangement and avoid traffic congestion in Dimapur town. It also informed that the parking arrangement has been made to raise fund in order to provide free coaching classes to the students in need.
