NCFSK mourns passing of Rev. Dr. Kenny Kapfo
DIMAPUR — The Naga Christian Fellowship, South Korea (NCFSK), has expressed deep condolences on the passing of Rev. Dr. Kenny Kapfo, one of the pioneers and founding members of the fellowship. In a condolence message, the NCFSK stated that Rev. Dr. Kenny Kapfo, along with Rev. Dr. Paulah Kapfo and other pioneers, played a key role in establishing the fellowship and laying its spiritual foundation. It said their vision, sacrifice, commitment and selfless leadership helped build a spiritual family that continues to serve the Naga community in South Korea. Describing him as one of the pillars of the NCFSK, the fellowship said his passing has left a deep void, while his life, ministry, leadership and lasting contribution would be remembered with gratitude and respect. The NCFSK extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, loved ones and all those mourning his passing, praying that the Lord would comfort and strengthen them during this difficult time.
Tuensang artisans trained in branding, market promotion
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and MSME Development and Facilitation Office, in collaboration with the Department of Industries Centre, Tuensang, organised a one-day awareness workshop on branding and marketing under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the ENPO conference hall, Tuensang, on Tuesday. According to a DIPR report, the workshop aimed to create awareness among artisans and craftsmen about financial literacy, business development, product packaging, labelling, designing, the use of AI (artificial intelligence), e-commerce onboarding and QR code generation. The programme was chaired by Nokeduto Savi, Project Associate, RAMP, while the welcome address was delivered by Khumchopi Sangtam, Functional Manager, DIC Tuensang. A total of 52 artisans and craftsmen attended the programme.
Re-conductoring to affect power supply in Dimapur
The Electrical Division, Dimapur, has informed consumers that intermittent shutdown of feeders and lines will be necessitated due to ongoing works for re-conductoring of existing lines, installation of new lines and Distribution Transformers under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS-LR) for improvement of power supply systems. The shutdowns will affect power supply to the concerned areas where the works are being carried out. Consumers have been requested to bear with the inconvenience. The exercise shall continue till the completion of all works.
DISHA team to expand HIV prevention services in Mon
The district-level introduction and launching programme for the Bike Outreach Worker allocated to the DISHA unit in Mon was held at the CMO office complex, Mon, on August 24, in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pakon Phom and Dr. Cheyale Kath, DVBO, Mon. According to an official bulletin, the new Bike Outreach Worker will be attached to the TI, JACAOA, Tobu. The ADC expressed sincere gratitude to NSACS for prioritising Mon district and encouraged the DISHA team to utilise the Bike Outreach programme to deliver vital HIV and STI prevention, testing, counselling and basic health services to remote and hard-to-reach areas within the district.
Peren district to hold mass social work on August 28
Peren district will conduct a departmental mass social work on August 28, commencing at 8:30 a.m., with mandatory participation of all government officers and staff at the district headquarters and sub-divisions. Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru, appreciated the officers and staff for their continued efforts in maintaining cleanliness and fostering a strong sense of responsibility towards the district. All departments have been directed to clean and maintain their respective offices and quarters. Attendance will be strictly monitored by the DC office. Under the district’s “Green Peren” initiative, citizens are encouraged to promote sustainable development and preserve the district’s flora and fauna. Town Councils, NGOs, CSOs, youth organisations, students’ unions and citizens have been urged to participate in cleaning their respective areas and properly maintain roadside tree plantations. All departments have been directed to ensure full participation and cooperation in the mass social work.
NNC/FGN meeting on August 31
The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will hold a meeting on August 31 at 10 am at Transit Peace Camp, Kohima. In a press release, the FGN requested all the central authorities, regional authorities, leaders of the Naga Women Federation (NWF) and the Naga Youth Federation (NYF), and high-ranking Naga Army officers of the NNC/FGN to attend the meeting.
