Patton extends Good Friday greetings
DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton has extended Good Friday greetings to the people of Nagaland. In a greeting message, Patton stated that Good Friday is a sacred day observed across the world in remembrance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. He said the day calls for prayer, repentance, and reflection on the sacrifice made for the redemption of mankind. Patton said that the message of Good Friday reminds believers of the power of love, forgiveness, and grace. He expressed hope that this holy occasion would renew faith and guide people to lead lives rooted in humility and compassion. He also prayed that the solemn observance of Good Friday would bring spiritual strength and peace to all and foster unity and goodwill among the people.
Power outage in 3 districts
The Executive Engineer, Transmission Division Kohima, has informed that there will be a scheduled total shutdown of power supply at 132/33kV Pfutsero sub-station on April 4 to facilitate testing of station equipment at the new sub-station. In a press release, the EE stated that the power shutdown will take place from 7 am to 9 am and from 1 pm to 3 pm. The affected districts include Phek, Meluri and Kiphire. All consumers and public in the affected areas have been requested to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
Clean drive at Naga Cemetery
A clean environment campaign for New Naga Cemetery, Zani village, Chümoukedima district, under Thejangullie Kire, joint secretary and convener of cemetery management committee and Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) office bearers, was conducted on April 1. In a press release, the NCD stated that thick bushes have been cleared and all the faded wreaths have been gathered and burnt. “This cleanliness campaign is initiated as many families do traditionally visit the tombs of their beloved ones during holy week of Good Friday and Easter Sunday,” it stated. The NCD further requested concerned families requested to clean up the tombs of their respective beloved on their visit.
Peren DPDB meeting on April 6
The monthly meeting of the Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has been scheduled on April 6 at 11 am at the DC’s conference hall, Peren. Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of DPDB Peren, TR Zeliang, has requested strict attendance of all DPDB members, an update stated. All concerned members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
