Phangnon Konyak appointed BJP Co-Incharge of Assam
DIMAPUR — S Phangnon Konyak, National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Nagaland, has been appointed Co-Incharge of Assam by BJP National President Nitin Nabin. According to an update, as part of the organisational appointments, Mangal Pandey, MLA, has been appointed Incharge of Assam. Manoj Tigga, BJP National Secretary and Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, West Bengal, has been appointed Co-Incharge of Assam.
Meeting on repatriation of Naga ancestral human remains
The Local Arrangement Committee (LAC) on Repatriation of Naga Ancestral Human Remains has convened a coordination meeting on September 29 to deliberate on the ongoing process of repatriating Naga ancestral human remains currently housed in London. According to an update, the meeting will be held at the Western Sümi Hoho Office, Chekiye Village, Dimapur, at 3 pm. It aims to bring together key tribal leadership and community bodies to ensure a coordinated, respectful and collective approach towards bringing home the ancestral remains. In line with this effort, invitations have been extended to tribal leadership, including the president and designated officials of the Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD), to join the consultative session alongside other constituent civil society representatives.
TUD executive meeting on September 25
The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has convened an executive meeting on September 25 at 9 am at the TUD office. According to a press release, the union urged all its constituent units, frontal organisations, TUD Market Management Committee, seniors and advisors to attend the meeting.
EAC Mon informs on LEST 2027 registration
EAC Mon Kedoseno Rino has informed all concerned that registration for the Class 9 and 11 LEST 2027 is being conducted online, with the deadline for submission of applications set for September 30. According to the information received from PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, registration is being carried out through online portals. The deadline for submission of applications is September 30.

NAAME to mark 20th foundation day
The Nagaland Association for Adventure, Mountaineering and Education (NAAME) will mark its 20th foundation day with a cleanliness drive-cum-trek to Mt. Terogvü Peak at Terogvunyu village in Tseminyu district on October 3. The event is being organised in collaboration with Terogvunyu Youth Organisation (TYO) and partners of Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP). According to an update, members participating in the programme will gather at the NAAME Office, Razhü Point, at 8 am before departing for Tseminyu and proceeding onwards for the trek to Mt. Terogvü Peak.
