GPRN/NNC (AB) warns against unauthorised tax collections
DIMAPUR — Expressing serious concern over illegal collection by ‘criminal-minded individuals’, the GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) has warned that an individual identified as Viketo and an extortion gang have been impersonating government representatives to collect illegal taxes from business establishments. According to a press release, H Sumi Naga has been appointed to coordinate all goodwill donations across the Chümoukedima, Niuland, and Dimapur districts to avoid confusion. The release added that for any dispute or suspected demands for donations, the public may contact 6009403832 for clarification.
Khet Bachaao Abhiyaan held in Molvom
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun organised the Khet Bachaao Abhiyaan (Rabi 2026) at Molvom village on Wednesday. According to an update, farmers were sensitised during the programme on the importance of integrated farming systems, scientific livestock rearing practices, and maintaining soil health. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable farming, improve livestock productivity, and enhance farmers' livelihoods through the adoption of scientific agricultural practices.
