NSAP pension distribution in Dimapur from June 25
DIMAPUR — The District Welfare Officer (DWO), Dimapur, has informed all beneficiaries under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) in the district that the disbursement of pensions will commence from June 25 at the DWO office, located opposite Garo Church, Eralibill. The pensions to be disbursed include the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension (IGNOAP), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), Totally Blind Pension, and Financial Assistance to Disabled Persons (State). The payment schedule has been communicated to Anganwadi workers sector-wise. All beneficiaries have been directed to submit photocopies of their BPL card, Aadhaar card, and the first page of their bank passbook at the time of payment. The DWO further stated that beneficiaries must ensure their Aadhaar is seeded with their respective bank accounts. Failure to do so may result in deletion of their names from the beneficiary list during the next payment cycle, for which the department will not be held responsible.
TUN general session on June 23
The Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) will hold its first annual general session on June 23 at 10 am at Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) Badze, Meriema, on the theme “Progressive society through unity.” Power and Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye will be the special guest, while Women Resource Development and Horticulture Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse will be the guest of honour. Vilelie Khamo, Class 1 contractor, will be the patron of the session. Short speech will be delivered by Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor NSDMA and Inland Waterways while greetings will be shared by TPO president Timikha Koza. TUN president Kekhwengulo Lea will deliver presidential address. Nomination committee convenor Thejao Vihienuo will lead the declaration of the new team of TUN for 2026- 2029.
Sanis sub-station power shutdown
The transmission division, Kohima, has informed that there will be a total shutdown of power supply at the 132/33kV Sanis Sub-Station on June 23 from 10 am to 4 pm to facilitate essential maintenance and related works at the sub-station. According to the executive engineer, transmission division, Kohima, all villages and towns receiving power supply from the Sanis sub-station will experience a complete power outage during the shutdown period. The department has requested consumers and the public in the affected areas to extend their cooperation and bear with the inconvenience caused during the maintenance work.
EDTC informs on free rabies camp
The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC), in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Dimapur, will be organising free anti-rabies vaccination camp on June 26 at the EDTC office, Purana Bazaar ISBT, from 9 am to 12 noon. In a press release, the EDTC informed all pet owners and animal caretakers within its jurisdiction to bring their dogs and cats for vaccination to help prevent rabies and promote public health and animal welfare.
Dimapur, Mokokchung DPDB meetings scheduled
Deputy Commissioner & Vice-Chairman DPDB, Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, has informed that the monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting will be held on June 26 at 11 am at the DC’s conference hall, Mokokchung. Meanwhile, the Office of the District Planning Machinery, Dimapur, has informed that the monthly DPDB meeting for June will be held on June 24 2026 at 11am at the DC’s conference hall, Dimapur. Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, has requested all members of the board to attend the meeting positively.
KPC mourns member's brother
The Kohima Press Club (KPC) has expressed sadness over the passing of Vihutuo Tsükrü, brother of KPC member and the club's former general secretary, Atono Tsükrü Kense. According to a condolence message issued by the club, Vihutuo passed away at Oking Hospital, Kohima, on Monday 22. He was 34 and is survived by his wife and four-month-old baby. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to Atono and her family. May you find comfort in the beautiful memories you shared with your brother, and may the departed soul rest in peace," the message read.
