NPSA meeting on August 3
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Police Service Association (NPSA) has convened an emergency meeting to deliberate on critical service-related matters affecting its members. According to a oress release issued by NPSA, the meeting will be held on August 3 at 11 am at Rhododendron Hall, NPCOM, Chümoukedima. The association has made attendance mandatory, requiring a minimum of two representatives from each unit and two members from each batch. NPS officers posted at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) have also been directed to attend. Unit and batch coordinators have been requested to ensure that their respective representatives are nominated and present. The meeting agenda includes discussions on the upcoming cadre review, the recent impasse concerning promotion files, and deliberations on the future course of action. The association has urged all designated representatives and PHQ officers to attend the meeting in view of the urgency and importance of the issues to be discussed.
Phangnon extends Naknyulüm greetings
Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, S Phangnon Konyak has extended greetings to the Chang community on the auspicious occasion of the Naknyulüm festival. In her message, Phangnon expressed hope that the festival would bring renewed hope, strengthen the spirit of togetherness, and fill every home with joy, peace, and abundant blessings.
Chiephobozou HLO review held
A weekly review meeting on the Census 2027 House Listing Operation (HLO) for Chiephobozou Block was held at the DB's Court on July 29. According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by ADC and sub-divisional census officer Vekusheyi Rhakho, who apprised census functionaries on the agenda and highlighted the status report, stating that the Census procedures were progressing smoothly. Rhakho advised supervisors and enumerators to maintain close supervision of all fieldwork and asked them to clarify any doubts. During the meeting, a detailed overview of the updated data pertaining to Phase I of the ongoing house enumeration process in the sub-division was discussed. All supervisors and enumerators submitted their layout maps. The meeting was attended by EAC Kohima and census charge officer for Botsa, Ane Khieya; EAC Chiephobozou Urban and charge officer for Chiephobozou, Viketoulie Metha; field trainer Alemsongla Jamir; all supervisors; the technical assistant; and other census functionaries under Chiephobozou sub-division.
As part of preparations for the Independence Day 2026 celebration, authorities in Phek and Kiphire districts have initiated coordination measures and cleanliness drives. According to a DIPR report, the Chozuba sub-division under Phek district held a coordination meeting at the Additional Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday under the chairmanship of ADC Zapuno Khatso. Responsibilities were assigned to government departments and frontier organisations for the smooth conduct of the celebration. The meeting also decided to organise a mass social work on August 13. Meanwhile, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Kiphire, Kato T Aomi, has announced a town-wide mass social work on August 1 from 6 am to prepare for the Independence Day celebrations. Heads of government offices, educational institutions and chairmen of the town's eleven wards have been directed to organise and supervise the cleanliness drive within their respective jurisdictions. The administration has sought the cooperation of all concerned to ensure the programme's success.
Kiphire children Aadhaar camp
The District Economics and Statistics Office (DESO), Kiphire, in collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), will organise an Aadhaar registration camp for children aged 0 to 5 years at the DESO Office, Kiphire, from August 3 to the 14th. According to an official bulletin, parents and guardians of children in the 0 to 5 years age group have been requested to avail the opportunity and bring their children to the registration camp along with the required documents.
Ex-FGN leader joins NSCN (Niki)
The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has welcomed ‘Col.’ Vezota Tetseo, who joined the organisation from FGN (Zopra). According to a press statement issued by the NSCN/GPRN (Niki), Tetseo hails from Suthotsu under Chakhesang Region. The statement said that, with firm belief in the commitment to the political ideology of NSCN/GPRN, he pledged to work to further strengthen the cause of Naga sovereignty.
