MP Phangnon, Dy. CM Patton extend Tsungremmong greetings
DIIMAPUR — Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, S Phangnon Konyak has extended festive greetings to the Ao community on the occasion of Tsungremmong. “Tsungremmong is a celebration that goes beyond feasting, an occasion rooted in gratitude and reverence to God Almighty for His abundant blessings. May this beautiful festival continue to strengthen bonds, uphold traditions and unite the community in peace and prosperity,” Phangnon Konyak said in a greeting message.
In a separate greeting message, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton also conveyed Tsungrenmong greetings to the Ao community. “Tsungrenmong is a preparatory thanksgiving festival for the coming harvest, and thus holds a huge significance. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, I once again wish the Aos a blessed time and a prosperous year ahead,” the message read.
Y Patton, Imkong L Imchen congratulate new CS
DIIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has congratulated Sentiyanger Imchen on his appointment as the new chief secretary of Nagaland. In a congratulatory note, Patton, who is also the minister in charge of Home, stated that, “Imchen has served the state government holding various important positions, for more than three decades, and has vast knowledge and experience in the affairs of governance. “I am confident that with him at the helm of affairs, the state will see a sea of change in administrative reforms.”
Advisor of Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, also congratulated Sentiyanger Imchen on being appointed as the new chief secretary of Nagaland. According to a DIPR report, Imchen expressed gratitude to the chief minister for recognising Imchen’s distinguished career and administrative insight.

NPF extends Naknyu Lüm greetings
DIIMAPUR — The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has extended festive greetings to the Chang community on the occasion of Naknyu Lüm. In a greeting message, the NPF Central HQ stated that Naknyu Lüm is not just a festival—it is a celebration of the triumph of light over darkness, of unity over division, and of the deep cultural wisdom that binds the Chang people together across generations. “As the Chang community comes together to honour its rich heritage and ancestral traditions, may this festival bring renewed hope, lasting peace, and collective strength to all. “The NPF acknowledges with pride the contributions of the Chang people in preserving our shared Naga identity,” the greetings read.
55 held in Zunheboto liquor crackdown
DIIMAPUR — The Excise District Office, Zunheboto, led by the Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, L Hevito Zhimomi and field staff, conducted surprise raids and MVCP duty in and around Zunheboto town during the month of June and July 2025. During the raids of multiple illegal liquor outlets and highway duty, a total of 800 bottles of IMFL, 120 can beer, 10 litres of country liquor were seized and 55 person arrested, an update stated. All seized items were deposited in the department’s ‘mal khanna.’ The Superintendent of Excise, Zunheboto, urged the public to report any liquor or drug-related illegal activities to enable swift action.
Angami Students' Union alerts ANTA on illegal immigrants
DIMAPUR — The Angami Students' Union (ASU) has urged the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Kohima, to take serious note of the growing concern about illegal immigrant infiltration, particularly in light of Assam's eviction drive, and to cooperate by preventing taxis under their association from being used to transport or facilitate the entry of illegal immigrants within Angami jurisdiction or any part of Nagaland. In a letter to the ANTA president, the union also requested the president to advise its affiliated taxi drivers and operators to be vigilant and responsible, ensuring they don't facilitate any breach regarding illegal immigration.
