NSCN (IM) lauds public support
DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Naga public for their support and assistance during a critical time when the group’s General Secretary Th. Muivah, was receiving treatment at Referral Hospital. In a press release, the NSCN (IM) also thanked the doctors and nurses for their prompt response, comforting words, and helpful assistance. Further, the NSCN (IM) expressed deepest thanks to the Almighty God for granting Th. Muivah the healing touch, enabling him to continue leading the Naga political movement.
Notice on scholarship for PWDs
DIMAPUR — The Department of Social Welfare has informed that the online application for Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities (State Scheme) is now open for Class I-VIII students for the 2025 academic session. Fresh applicants and renewal applicants can apply through the Nagaland Common Scholarship Portal, starting August 7. According to a DIPR report, eligibility criteria and guidelines of the scheme have been made available on the website https://scholarship.nagaland.gov.in. The last date of submission of the application is November 30, 2025.

Kohima DPDB meeting on August 8
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has informed that the monthly meeting of District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Kohima for the month of August will be held on August 8 at 11 am at DPDB conference hall, Kohima. All the Board members have been requested to make it convenient and attend the meeting positively, a DIPR report stated.
Red Run Marathon in Mokokchung
DIMAPUR — The District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS (DISHA) organised Red Run Marathon on the theme ‘Run for awareness run against HIV & STIS’ on Tuesday in Mokokchung. The objective of the event was to raise awareness and sensitise the public on HIV and AIDS, while also promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle in the community, an update stated. Altogether, 98 youths between the age group of 17- 25 years participated in the race. Winners were given certificate and cash prize.

Mass social work in Chozuba town
DIMAPUR — Chozuba town under the Phek district will organise mass social work on August 9 from at 7 am onwards. ADC Chozuba, Dr. Diana Patton, has directed all the government employees and residents of Chozuba town to participate in the social work in their respective offices and wards, a DIPR report stated. EAC Chozuba will supervise the overall exercise of the mass social work.
