NLA Committee on Subordinate Legislation meeting on July 16


DIMAPUR — Chairperson of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Zhaleo Rio, MLA, has convened a meeting of the committee on July 16 at 12 noon at C Chongshen committee room, Assembly Secretariat. According to a DIPR report, all members of the committee have been requested to attend the meeting as scheduled.


NSCN (IM) organises medical camp


DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Health, NSCN (IM), in collaboration with Mongleu Kamdi Public Organisation (MKPO) Jalukie, Peren district, organised a free medical camp at Kamdi Bazar on Thursday.


In a press release, the NSCN (IM) stated that the medical team was led by Dr. Diliang (general medicine), alongside Dr. Sunderlal (gastroenterologist), Dr. Yimlong (dermatologist) and Dr. Tahito (OST). The medical staff and nurses from the Ministry of Health, NSCN (IM), and MKPO members freely tendered their service for the smooth functioning of the camp. The event offered free medical consultations and medicines to residents of Kamdi village and surrounding areas, it stated.

RSON flays sexual assault on minor


DIMAPUR — The Rongmei Students' Organisation Nagaland (RSON) has condemned the alleged sexual assault on a minor girl allegedly by Ali Mortaja, a shopkeeper at New Market, Dimapur. In a condemnation note, the RSON stated that such a “despicable and inhuman act against a vulnerable minor has shaken the conscience of society and must not be tolerated under any circumstances.” “We demand the strictest and swiftest action against the accused under the POCSO Act, without any leniency. The nature of this crime warrants no mercy, and we call upon the concerned authorities, particularly the law enforcement agencies and the judiciary, to ensure that justice is delivered without delay.”


IDANSB condoles Dr. Imsuakum Jamir’s demise


DIMAPUR — The Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) has condoled the sudden and untimely demise of its president, Dr. Imsuakum Jamir, on July 9 at CMC Vellore. In a condolence message, the association described Dr. Jamir as a “humble, kind, cheerful and soft-spoken gentleman with a quiet determination who is ever ready to help in time of need and someone who can be relied upon for any assigned task.” “With his untimely demise, the fraternity of IDANSB has lost an exceptional and remarkable leader, and the void left by him would be difficult to fill,” the message read.

DPDB Zunheboto meeting on July 16


DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, has informed that the monthly meeting of District Planning and Development Board (DPDP) Zunheboto will be held on July 16 at DC’s conference hall. In a circular, the DC requested all board members to take note of the date and attend the meeting positively.
