NHPS takes action against 12 empanelled hospitals
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) under the Health & Family Welfare Department has flagged 12 empanelled hospitals in the state over irregularities identified over the years in connection with the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS). According to information provided by the NHPS, 10 of the 12 hospitals are empanelled government hospitals, while the remaining two are private hospitals. The NHPS reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability and strict adherence to the prescribed policies and guidelines governing AB PM-JAY and CMHIS. It stated that appropriate action is being taken in accordance with established policies and procedures to safeguard the interests of beneficiaries and ensure that the schemes continue to provide quality and accessible healthcare services to the people of Nagaland.
Nagaland launches IndiaSkills competition
The Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (DoESDE), Government of Nagaland, has launched the IndiaSkills Nagaland Skill Competition 2026-27. IndiaSkills is a biannual national skills competition organised by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) across 28 states and eight Union Territories, a DIPR report stated. The competition seeks to identify and nurture talented youth from Nagaland, providing opportunities to showcase their skills at state, regional, national and international levels. Participation is open to all eligible candidates free of cost. Competitors can register for 17 skills, including fashion technology, beauty therapy, hairdressing, health and social care, floristry, welding, bakery, electrical installations, cooking, graphic design, hotel reception, mobile applications development, restaurant service, retail sales, CNC milling and CNC turning. Candidates must be born on or after January 1, 2006, and have an Aadhaar number. The registration deadline is September 15, 2026. Registration is through the Skill India Digital portal.
Vision for Change meeting on Sept. 4
Vision for Change will hold a meeting to discuss important matters concerning the organisation, its ongoing activities and upcoming social welfare and community development programmes. The meeting will review the progress of ongoing programmes and deliberate on future projects, skill development initiatives, welfare activities for unemployed youth and other matters related to the objectives and functioning of the organisation. The meeting will be held at the residence of the organisation’s vice president, Ajung, at Burma Camp, Dimapur, on September 4 at 3 pm. All members have been requested to attend the meeting and actively participate in the discussions. The meeting will also focus on strengthening coordination among members and planning new initiatives for the benefit of the community.
SVEEP awareness programme held at Ungma
A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme focusing on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise was held at Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School (SGHSS), Ungma, Mokokchung district, on September 2. Kewimesin Nriame, EAC (HQ) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for 26-Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, highlighted the importance of voter awareness among youth and urged eligible students to exercise their franchise in upcoming elections. Nriame also called for their cooperation in the ongoing SIR exercise, a DIPR report stated. The master trainer for 26-Aonglenden AC explained the technical aspects of the SIR exercise, including the responsibilities of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and the proper procedure for filling and processing enumeration forms. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Neithozo Theunuo, EAC (HQ) and AERO for 27-Mokokchung Town AC.
