MP Phangnon extends Chaga Gadi & Langsimnyi greetings
DIMAPUR — Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak has extended Chaga Gadi & Langsimnyi festival greetings to the Zeliang community. DC Dimapur informs on Mera Yuva Bharat
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, has informed that the Mera Yuva Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is collaborating with the district administration to organise a district-level Padayatra. This event is part of the 'Sardar @ 150 Unity March' campaign, which commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the 'Iron Man of India', a DIPR report stated. The Padayatra will take place on October 31, starting at 6 am from City Tower, Tajen Ao Road, and will culminate at Dimapur Government College, where a short programme will be held. All concerned institutions, officials and volunteers have been requested to assemble at the starting point by 6 am.

EDTC mandates permit for thekadars
DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has informed all ‘thekadars mistry’ operating within its jurisdiction that they are required to obtain a valid permit from the EDTC’s office within a period of 30 days (November 1 to the 30th). According to the EDTC, this is to ensure proper documentation in all construction and related activities under its jurisdiction. “Furthermore, all registered thekadars must strictly adhere to the official rates as fixed by the East Dimapur Town Council under EDTC jurisdiction. Any deviation from the prescribed rates or undertaking of works without a valid permit shall be treated as a violation of town council regulations and will invite necessary action as per rules,” it stated.
NHHDC to organise handloom expo
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (NHHDC) will organise a state handloom expo (Hathkargha Mela) at Urban Haat in Dimapur from November 11 to the 24th. The last date for submission of application has been set on November 7. Interested co-operative societies, producer companies, SHGs, federations, apex societies, handloom and handicrafts agencies including silk weavers, jute artisans and KVIC are asked to apply for participation to the Project Cell of NHHDC at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, along with detailed address, mobile number, bank account No. with IFSC code with an application along with one copy of the products.
IRCS Kohima conducts first aid training
DIMAPUR — The Kohima branch of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) on Wednesday organised one-day first aid training for the Junior Red Cross (JRC) and teacher counsellors inducted in five schools of Kohima district at its office conference hall, behind the Deputy Commission’s office in Kohima. The resource persons were Noulevituo Zumu and Peteruokuo Belho from IRCS, Nagaland State Branch. During the programme, its joint secretary (Admn.), Santu Thapa, highlighted the gathering on the formation Red Cross and seven fundamental principles of the Red Cross, while joint secretary, Kezhachutuo Miachieo, delivered the vote of thanks.
