NBBSS Dimapur constitutes new committee
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): The Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan (NBBSS), Dimapur Branch, organised a general meeting on February 12 at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium, Dimapur, and nominated a new committee. The new committee was nominated in the presence of Anil Kumar Dhar, All India general secretary; Bidhan Debroy, president of state committee; Kamala Kanta Paul and president of Bengali Samaj, Dimapur, an update informed. Monoj Bhattacharjee was elected as the president of the newly-formed committee alongwith other office bearers. Nikhil Bharat Banga Shitya Sammelan (All India Bengali Literary Conference) was established in the year 1923 at Banaras under the presidentship of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and renowned poet and lyricist Atul Prasad Sen and many others Bengalis stalwarts.
IT dept. is Aadhaar AUA
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): The department of Information Technology and Communication has been mandated to become the Aadhaar Authentication User Agency (AUA) for the state of Nagaland. “All other departments using online applications, including DBT schemes, requiring the authentication of Aadhaar for verification and service delivery will be done as a sub-AUA under that of the Department of Information Technology and Communication,” an official bulletin stated.
DC Kohima notifies on ‘no parking zone’
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Shanavas C, has informed that the area starting from Razhu Point junction via Old NST and via D Block till TCP Gate would be declared as ‘no parking zone’ on February 26 and 27th, for smooth passage of vehicles carrying polling teams and security personnel. This is in view of the DC office complex, Kohima, being the designated ‘dispatch’ and ‘receiving’ centre of polling materials and EVM machines, a DIPR report stated. The DC informed that the measure has been necessitated due to the shifting of the location of election duty vehicles from Local Ground to IG Stadium. Shanavas appealed the public and especially the churches, to cooperate by complying with ‘no parking zone’ directives on February 26 (Sunday) and make necessary arrangements accordingly, as the polling teams will start arriving from IG Stadium to DC office complex from 7 am onwards.
RLJP national women’s president arrives in state
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): National women’s president of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), Shibani Sengupta arrived in Nagaland on Monday in the run up to the Nagaland Assembly election, as a star-campaigner for BJP candidates. An update stated Sengupta will be touring Nagaland with Rosa Murry, National Secretary Women Cell and Mary Kithan State president Nagaland.
NSCN (IM) condoles demise of P Wosumo
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has condoled the demise of P Wosumo, Deputy Secretary, Central Secretariat, GPRN, Lotha region who passed away on February 10 after prolonged illness. An update from Cabinet Secretary, LH John, said Wosumo joined the Naga national service on October 26, 1998 with a “strong determination to give his best for the cause of Naga nation”. It said he gave his ‘best service to the nation within his capacity and ability until his last breath’. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for Almighty God to give them solace in their hour of sorrow and pain.
CAT undertakes educational study tour
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): As part of its departmental activity, the department of History and Economics, College of Arts and Technology (CAT) Nerhe Phezha undertook a one-day educational study tour to Industrial Training Institute and State Museum, Kohima on Monday.
At ITI, the students were given a short briefing about the Institute by Ruokuohezo Suhou, group instructor and Alongti K Anar, vocational instructor, an update stated. The students were then taken for visitations to various vocational and skill ongoing classes in the campus. R S Siipuni Pou, Sub-Regional Employment Officer, ITI, also highlighted the students of upcoming schemes in the Institute. Later, the students visited the State Museum. The students were led by the teachers -in-charge Rokovono Seletsu(Department of History), Vepelo Kezo (Department of Economics) and Temsujunqla (Department of Economics).
Darogapathar Village Council resolves to hold free and fair election
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): The Darogapathar Village Council has resolved to adhere to a free and fair election within its jurisdiction in the upcoming assembly election. A statement on Monday said political canvassing by any political party should be conducted in a peaceful manner, while putting up political banners, posters etc have been prohibited within its jurisdiction. It furhte rstated that contesting parties have been restricted from operation political or youth camps and outsiders have been requested to refrain from any political activity within the village jurisdiction on the polling day.
Agencies seize items worth over 36 crore till Feb. 12
Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): The various Central and state enforcement agencies have made seizures worth INR 36, 99, 56, 169. 882 (36 crore 99 lakh 56 thousand 169 rupees and 88 paisa) till February 12, update stated. Meanwhile, cash worth INR 5,00,000; and 1211.05 litre of liquor worth INR 3,53,630; totaling INR 8,53,630 were seized on February 12.
