NLA Speaker condoles Biswa Sen’s passing
DIMAPUR — Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, has condoled the passing of Biswa Bandhu Sen, Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. Ina condolence message, Longkumer stated that Sen was a seasoned parliamentarian and a devoted public leader who served the people of Tripura with integrity humility and unwavering commitment. “I had the privilege of associating with late Shri Sen through our interactions under the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone- III where his wisdom, courtesy and deep respect for parliamentary traditions earned him wide admiration,” the message read. “His passing is an irreparable loss to the Tripura Legislative Assembly, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association fraternity, and the people of Tripura.”
Milk price hiked in Kohima
DIMAPUR — The Kohima District Dairy Farmers Association (KDDFA) has informed all concerned that due to escalating input costs of various essential items for livestock and milk production, the association in its meeting resolved to increase the rate of pure fresh milk to INR 80 per litre from the existing rate of INR 70 per litre, in and around Kohima. The revised rate will be affected from January 1, 2026, the KDDFA stated in an update.
64th UBA triennial session from December 28
DIMAPUR — The Seyochung Village Students’ Union has informed that 64th UBA triennial session will be held from December 28 to the 30th, on the theme “Rooted in culture, rising with sustainability.’ In a press release, the union stated that that the event aims to promote “our cultural values while encouraging sustainable development for the future.” Rupin Sharma, DGP Nagaland, will attend the programme as the special guest, and T Chorise Anar as the cultural guest.
NPF condoles Sentilemba’s demise
DIMAPUR — The Naga People's Front (NPF) has extended condolences over the demise of Sentilemba, former managing director of the Nagaland State Transport (NST). In a condolence message, the NPF described Sentilemba as a “respected leader known for his humility, dedication, and sincere service to the people.” He was the younger brother of Apong Pongener, the former NPF president and advisor to the chief minister. “Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength and comfort to the family during this time of sorrow,” the message read.
RCK mourns Semou’s demise
DIMAPUR — The Royal Cub Kohima (RCK) has expressed shock and grief at the sudden demise of one of its founding members Neisakholie Semou on December 25. In a condolence message, the RCK stated that Semou was a “cheerful, bright and soft spoken person with fair mindedness and positivity in the task assigned to him. He had played a supportive role in all the activities of the club in whatever capacities entrusted to him.” Prior to his death, Semou had also served as a treasurer and deacon of Christian Revival Church, Naga Hospital Colony, Kohima. “His demise is a great loss to the club and the vacuum created will be difficult to fill. Though, he is no longer with us let's celebrate and cherish his life,” the message read.
