Kuda Village Council lifts ban on pork sale, pig transportation

DIMAPUR — The Kuda Village Council (KVC) has lifted the ban on the sale of pork and the transportation of pigs within its jurisdiction with immediate effect. In a statement, the council stated that the decision follows the order of the deputy commissioner of Dimapur on July 16, which lifted the restrictions. The ban had been enforced within the Kuda jurisdiction in line with a KVC order dated May 28, which was based on earlier restrictions imposed by the district administration on May 20.

NSCN (Niki) welcomes 18 homecomers

NSCN/GPRN (Niki) on Wednesday announced that 18 members from NSCN (IM), led by former ESCM Theja Kire, have joined the organisation. According to a press statement, the group welcomed the homecomers, stating that their decision to join was not driven by ill will or resentment towards any other Naga political group. The statement said their decision to join NSCN/GPRN is rooted in their commitment and belief in the political ideology of the organisation and their intention to further strengthen the cause of Naga sovereignty.

Modern College conducts team-building activities

The Centre for Happiness of Modern College, Piphema, organised a team-building activity at the college's auditorium hall on July 28. According to an update, the Centre for Happiness is an initiative of the college dedicated to promoting the holistic development and well-being of students by providing opportunities to develop teamwork, communication, leadership, creativity, and emotional well-being. A total of 175 students participated in the programme and were divided into five groups of 35 students each. Students participated in five games which encouraged cooperation, communication, concentration, coordination, and healthy competition.
