Khiamniungan Union Dimapur expels member for 5 years
DIMAPUR — The Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD) has announced that Pashen, 39, son of Lamthio alias Sheliam from Langnok village, has been expelled from KUD membership for five years, effective July 30, 2025. In a press release, the KUD stated that the decision to expel Pashen was made following a unanimous resolution during an executive meeting on July 30, citing repeated violations of KUD resolutions that brought disrepute to the community. During the excommunicated period, Pashen has been strictly restrained from creating YouTube contents on sensitive issues that attract negative images of the community and making videos soliciting for donation/contribution on false pretence.
BAC meeting on August 20
DIMAPUR — Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly and chairperson of Business Advisory Committee (BAC), Sharingain Longkumer, has convened a BAC meeting on August 20 at 11 am at C Chongshen committee room, Assembly Secretariat. According to a DIPR report, the meeting will finalise the provisional programme for the 7th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly scheduled to commence from September 2.
CSL meeting on August 18
DIMAPUR — Advisor of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and chairperson of Committee on Subordinate Legislation (CSL), Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Zhaleo Rio, has convened a meeting of the Committee on August 18 at 12 noon at C Chongshen committee room, Assembly Secretariat. Members of the committee have been requested to attend the meeting as scheduled, an official bulletin stated.

Wokha DC announces second phase of Clean Doyang Mission
Sanitation meeting held in Shamator
DIMAPUR — The Water and Sanitation Mission meeting was held at the DC’s conference hall, Shamator, on Monday under the chairmanship of Advisor for Youth Resources & Sport and chairman DPDB Shamator, S Keoshu Yimchunger. The house discussed the importance of hygienic and better and healthy environment and urged every ward to oversee the sanitation subjects with due importance. The house also deliberated on and proposed the creation of a ward for “Soil Colony,” a DIPR report stated.
Dormant cooperatives in Mon notified
DIMAPUR — Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mon, Vikosielie Nagi, has notified non-functioning and dormant cooperative societies in the district that their registrations will be cancelled. A list of affected societies is available on the office notice board, and notifications have been sent to the respective societies via registered post, a DIPR report stated. Listed societies can submit a written appeal for revival within one month from the date of notification. If no response is received within this timeframe, a recommendation for cancellation will be made to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Nagaland.
EDTC’s social work on August 13
DIMAPUR — The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has informed all business establishments under its jurisdiction that a mass social work will be conducted on August 13 from 6 am to 8 am, in preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. In a press release, the EDTC directed all shopkeepers and business owners to keep their shops closed during the social work and actively participate in the cleanliness drive. The social work will be overseen by Councillor Alemla Tovi, Ward-9. “All concerned are requested to extend full cooperation to ensure a clean and presentable environment for the celebration. Strict action will be taken against any defaulters who fail to comply with this directive,” it stated.
Lions Club of Dimapur to organise health camp
DIMAPUR — Lions Club of Dimapur (LCD) is organising a 5-day health camp from August 13 to the 17th at the Lions Health Centre. The camp will offer alternative therapies, including acupressure and chiropractor treatment. In a press release, the LCD informed that experienced practitioners will provide personalised care. Participants have been are requested to come with their previous prescription and reports. Registration fee is INR 100 per participant for the entire 5-day camp.
