Postal ballot schedule for Koridang
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, has informed that the schedule for casting postal ballots for the bye-election to the 28 (ST) Koridang Assembly Constituency has been finalised for absentee voters. According a DIPR report, voters under the categories of absentee voters, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and those suspected or affected by Covid-19 will be facilitated to cast their votes through postal ballot at their respective residences. The first visit by polling teams will be conducted on April 1 from 8 am to 4 pm at the addresses of AVSC/AVPD/AVCO voters. The second visit is scheduled on April 2 from 8 am to 4 pm at the addresses of AVSC/AVPD/AUCO voters. The district administration has urged all eligible voters in these categories to avail the facility and exercise their franchise during the scheduled visits.
Tovihoto mourns Sekhose’s passing
Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election Department, H Tovihoto Ayemi has condoled the demise of former bureaucrat Vihelie Sekhose. In a condolence message, the advisor termed Sekhose as “a man of remarkable simplicity and humility,” and recalled his long and dedicated service as a government servant in various capacities. “He retired as Secretary, PHE, leaving behind a legacy of sincere and dedicated public service. Even after retirement, he continued to contribute as Advisor for Border Affairs from 2006 to 2013, reflecting his unwavering commitment to the state and its people,” Ayemi stated. “Sekhose will be remembered not only for his illustrious career but also for his gentle nature, humility, and the respect he earned from all who knew him. His life remains an inspiration to many,” the message added.
NSCN/GPRN terminates 2 cadres
The NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe) has terminated 2nd Lt. Endson Murru (Army no. 20723) of Sumi region and Sgt. Maj. Arimong Mongzar (Army no. 20571) of United Sangtam Region from the service of the Naga Army. In a termination order dated March 28, the NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe) stated that the two Naga Army personnel have been found guilty of “anti-national activities.”
